Take On J. Lo in New 'J. Lo: Fur Bully From the Block' Game
Calling all fur foes: Want to do battle with J. Lo? With PETA's “J. Lo: Fur Bully From the Block; Flee the Fur Ho” computer game, you can do just that. The mission of this fun new game is to rack up points by rescuing animals who are slated to end up on a store rack, as one of the grisly gorements that J. Lo sells in her anything-but-"sweet" Sweetface clothing line. Along the way, you can score even more points by educating J. Lo's workers about the torture and death behind every cuff, coat, and trim of her furry fashions. But watch your back—you'll have to save your own skin from the "Queen of Mean" as she hunts you down while you liberate and leaflet. And everybunny knows that once J. Lo gets her claws on you, it's "Game Over!"
Defeat Evil and Earn an iPod!
After trying your hand at freeing animals from the clutches of the notorious fur hag, forward the link to the game to everyone you know. The player who forwards it to the most people will win a free iPod (J. Lo tunes not included, of course!). So start your forwarding frenzy now, because the contest ends December 7th.
The Skeletons in J. Lo's Closet
Why are we so dedicated to knocking Jenny off her block? Because the way that J. Lo profits from pimping the pelts of animals who suffer miserable lives and unimaginably cruel deaths is no game.
Every year, millions of animals, including rabbits, raccoons, and foxes, are painfully caught in steel-jaw traps, where many will chew off their own feet in an attempt to escape. Some die of blood loss, while others succumb to infection or simply starve or freeze to death. Animals often languish for days before the trapper arrives to crush their chests or beat or stomp them to death. Farmed animals spend their short, miserable lives in filthy wire cages until they are killed by suffocation, neck-breaking, or genital or anal electrocution. Sometimes these methods only stun the animals, who end up being skinned alive.
Make Compassion Your Fashion
Many hot designers, including Stella McCartney, Betsey Johnson, Marc Bouwer, Todd Oldham, Oleg Cassini, and others, have turned their backs on fur and created synthetic alternatives that are hip, humane, and easily available-and they don't turn animals into fashion victims.
