Style Expert Melissa Rivers Is Fashionable in Faux Fur
To combat the efforts of cold-hearted pelt-pushers, Oscar fashion
commentator Melissa Rivers steamed things up by snuggling naked in
a Marc Bouwer faux fur coat in PETA’s latest “Fake It
for the Animals’ Sake” ad.
Exposés of animals caught in steel-jaw leghold traps or driven
mad in tiny fur-farm cages have made Melissa a strong supporter of
PETA’s Fur Campaign. Hoping to sway hold-out fur-wearers to
the animals’ side, Melissa sat down with PETA to discuss how
the fur industry is all gore and no glamour: For each fur garment,
animals are trapped, drowned, or beaten to death in the wild or gassed,
strangled, or electrocuted on fur farms.
