Roselyn Sanchez Shows Her Skin to Save Animals’ Skins
Sexy starlet Roselyn Sanchez investigates crimes on CBS' hit drama Without a Trace, and in real life, she would never commit the biggest fashion crime of all—wearing fur! After learning about the horrors of the fur industry, Roselyn jumped at the chance to be the first Latina to pose nude for PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign.
The ad was shot by ace photographer Robert Sebree, who has also snapped Joanna Krupa, Christina Applegate, Goran Visnjic, and Nicholas Gonzalez for PETA’s anti-fur effort.
No federal laws protect animals on fur farms, so animals often suffer from severe illnesses and injuries without veterinary care and are exposed to the elements in tiny, filthy cages. At the end of their miserable lives, they are killed by electrocution, gassing, poisoning, or neck-breaking. Trapped animals can spend days in agony, tearing flesh and breaking bones in a struggle to free themselves before the trapper arrives to beat or stomp them to death.
Sanchez, a bilingual beauty from San Juan, Puerto Rico, decided to show her skin to save animals’ skins after seeing what happens to animals in the fur industry. “There are places in the world [where people] grow animals for the purpose of killing them to be able to get the skin and the coat,” Sanchez explains. “[The animals] are electrocuted, they drown them, they suffocate them; it’s insanity what they do to these animals. … For human beings to take the liberty of just killing something to look pretty is insane.”
