PETA Turns Heads in Naughty, Nasty Fashion Week Finale

People strolling around the Piazza del Duomo during Milan’s Fashion Week have been confronted with posters and leaflets comparing the fur trim on gloves and coats to the unshaved hair around a woman’s bikini bottoms in a provocative new PETA campaign launched by supermodel and pro-animal protection advocate Marcus Schenkenberg, a campaign that U.S. censors won’t allow.

“Fur Trim: Unattractive” is the theme of PETA’s new fashion attack, which includes posters and leaflets blitzing Milan, Paris, London, and other fashion capitals. “Since most young people are disgusted by the cruelty to animals involved in producing a whole fur coat, furriers are trying to get their money by sewing bits and pieces of fur trim onto collars and cuffs,” says Schenkenberg, who opposes the leghold trap and the fur farm because he loves animals. He has protested fur in the nude in Times Square and also posed naked for PETA’s 20th anniversary ad.
